Configure Components

After activating BuddyPress, there will be six admin panels where you will be able to configure the plugin further.

Settings > BuddyPress > Components

By default, only the Activity Stream and the xProfile components are enabled. You can activate the components and features you want to add in your installation.

You can selectively disable any of the components later if you so choose by using the same form. Your BuddyPress installation will continue to function. However, the features of the disabled components will no longer be accessible to anyone using the site

BuddyPress components are rendered as WordPress Pages. Make sure that activated components have corresponding pages assigned to each in this panel.

Users > Profile Fields

Your users will distinguish themselves through their profile page. You must give them profile fields that allow them to describe themselves in a way that is relevant to the theme of your social network. Note: Any fields in the first group will appear on the signup page. [More information]

Activity Stream Admin Panels
